Work accepted for publication is published online and in our newsletter. We accept simultaneous submissions. Please withdraw your submission immediately if it accepted elsewhere. Multiple submissions are not accepted. Please submit once per week at maximum. We accept previously published material for online publication. If you are submitting previously published work, please note where it was first published. We do not accept work that has been generated or created by Artificial Intelligence. You must be 18 years of age or over to submit.

POETRY: 1-3 poems. Each poem must be under 3 pages.

FICTION: 1 work between 1,000-10,000 words.

FLASH FICTION: 1-2 works. Each piece can be up to 1,000 words.

CREATIVE NONFICTION AND MEMOIRS: 1 work up to 10,000 words.

RIGHTS: Midsummer Dream House acquires electronic rights and retains online archival rights upon acceptance.

PAYMENT: Payment is a flat $10 USD for all accepted piece(s) in one submission.

RESPONSE TIME: 1-3 months.

We are closed for submissions on Sundays. Submissions are accepted through Duosuma and Submittable. Expedited submissions (72 hour response) and editorial feedback is offered only on Submittable.

To accommodate special formatting or spacing of poetry, we utilize a combination of accessible text and a display of typographic display under the text.

Hardship Fee Waivers: Our submission fee(s) are nominal fees that directly contribute to our operating costs and expenses. If you are unable to afford this fee for any reason, you may submit a hardship submission.
