Christmas Mourn (Expected, But Not Received)

the shape

of life distorted

stumbles

an uncertain

sailor

legs wobbly

speech slurred

like lines

in the painter's

rendering

of the gray

monotone

fog of

the mind

catacombs

of the

eclipsing

dusk-dawn

heart

yelling

valve teeth

open

in the

discarded

gut twist

bile

acid

understanding

the cold

shoulder

society

nimbly

wrenchingly

presents

to the I

like a five-

-year-old

who scrawled

paint crayon

gibberish

over a

beloved

book wall

and presented

it with a joy

expected,

but not received

by cranky-eyed parents

on a searing

july-like

christmas

mourn.
