Magazine Issue Submissions
Submissions to our magazine issues are closed and will reopen at a TBD date. All work submitted will be considered for publication in our upcoming issue, in digital and print.
We accept simultaneous submissions. We do not accept previously published material for our print issues. This includes work posted on websites, social media, and any other online platform. We do not accept work that has been generated or created by Artificial Intelligence. You must be 18 years of age or over to submit.
POETRY SUBMISSIONS: Send 1-3 poems.
FICTION: Send 1 fictional story between 1,000-10,000 words.
FLASH FICTION: Send 1-2 works of flash fiction. Each work of flash fiction can be up to 1,000 words long.
CREATIVE NONFICTION AND MEMOIRS: Send 1 work of creative nonfiction or 1 memoir up to 10,000 words.
PLAYS OR SCRIPTS: Send 1 play or script up to 10 pages long.
ARTWORK: Send 1-10 photos or scans of artwork. All photos or scans must be at least 300 DPI. Title each file with the title of the art piece. In the cover letter include the medium of the work.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Send 1-10 photos. All photos must be at least 300 DPI. Title each file with the title of the photo.
RIGHTS: Midsummer Dream House acquires first North American serial rights and electronic rights. We do not offer payment for accepted pieces at this time.
RESPONSE TIME: 1-12 months.
We nominate for the Pushcart Prize. Submissions are accepted through Duosuma and Submittable.
